Five Signs Your Workplace is Toxic video transcript:
This video will show you the 5 most common symptoms of a toxic workplace.
Hi, my name is Sara Baker and I’m going to be showing you what a toxic workplace looks like. There are many different types of workplaces out there but in this video, we’re focusing on the most common type – the toxic one. So let’s get started with these 5 telltale signs that your job might not be all that good for you or your mental health.
The first sign of a toxic workplace is low engagement and morale. This can manifest as workers who are unhappy, unproductive or apathetic. They may not be vocal about it but you’ll be able to see it in their body language and attitude.
The second sign is poor communication. In a toxic workplace, communication is often blocked or distorted. This can lead to misunderstandings, resentment and even conflict.
The third sign is fear. Workers in a toxic workplace often feel unsafe or threatened. They may be afraid to speak up or offer their ideas for fear of being ridiculed or punished.
The fourth sign is no trust. In a healthy workplace, trust is key. But in a toxic workplace, trust is often absent. This can lead to workers feeling paranoid and untrusting of one another.
The fifth and final sign is turnover. When people are unhappy in their jobs, they often leave. And this is especially common in toxic workplaces. So if you’re seeing a lot of people coming and going, it might be a sign that the workplace is toxic.
If you’re experiencing any of these signs in your workplace, it might be time to take action. The first step is to buy the book, Toxic Workplace Survival Guide. This book will show you how to minimize the stress of a toxic workplace and figure out if it’s time to change jobs. So don’t wait, buy the book today.
